Smuve  Complexions by Ateyaa

Ms. Ateyaa changed my whole view on wigs. The hair diaries, tutorials, make-up sessions, and even cooking tips have been soooooo helpful. But more than anything HAIR! Homegirl has tried every weaving technique and has used every hair product out there. She definitely knows the business. At first I was disgusted at how ghetto she sounded, until I realized that anybody who was born and raised in Texas is just gonna sound like a country mouf'd koon. Besides the information she provides is LIFE SAVING. I've bought several wigs she's featured, cuz she shows you how to rock them out, take care of them, and get your moneys worth. Wigs, Lacing, Sew-ins, Fusion, Perm'd hair, natural hair........she does and did it all! I must say it's been fascinating watching her grow her hair out. Like us all, she had a bad experiance with a sew-in, and it damaged her hair badly, causing her to have to cut it......well let me tell you in less than 3 months, Ateyaa nursed that head back to health and her hair is so friggin healthy looking. Go head girl! I'd advise anyone who is adventurous and passionate about hair to subscribe and follow her. My fav. is the live chat sessions she has answering any question you may have. She definitely gets two snaps and a body roll in my book!

Yay or Nay?

So while twittering I noticed that Kim Kardashian has a site that she's affiliated with where you can have a personal shoe stylist. The site is called Shoedazzle.com.......Here's how it works:

Take our Fashion Survey:

It only takes a few minutes for us to get to know your style. Our stylists pick 5 shoes for you:

Based on your survey results, our fashion experts provide you with a choice of 5 fashionable shoes each month. Choose the pair you want:

We provide free shipping*. If you are unsatisfied with your shoes, simply return them to us using the pre-printed return shipping label provided with your order.

The shoes are basically knockoff styles, like any other shoe you buy. I mean lets be honest, have the shoes i buy prolly have a high end twin. I read a few reviews and most customers are happy with their shoes, they did mention that the shoes are equivalent to charlotte russe shoes or maybe forever 21. I mean you really can't go wrong when you can send them back in exchange for another pair that you like. And you can cancel your membership at anytime. This definitely will be taken into consideration....I'm thinking I may! :)

PURE Hilarity!!!!

Yet another reason why I look forward to Tuesday night.....watching my dvr'd OPERATION REPO's! OMG this show has got to be the funniest mind blowing ish ever! I don't think I could ever do the job these folks have to do. It kills me how folks think they can stop paying their car for 3 or more months and NOT think anything will happen. It has to be the cameras that add to the chaos, cuz there's no way I'd be ready to fight someone who's rightfully authorized to take my ish, cuz i wasn't handling my business. But the stuff these repo people have to endure.......lord! Dang near death experiances! Yet another in depth look at how crazy people are in this world. CRAZY..................and I loooooooove it!

I'd like to take this time to personally thank ALDOS for changing my life when it comes to the shoe game. I now have a great appreciation for shoes and they way they can transform you. I wasn't much of a heel person, more of a flat boot or flat chick, however after working at aldos, being able to try on endless styles of shoes, and might I add the 50% employee discount!!! *sigh* I had no choice but to become an addict! I remember lusting over when the new shipments would come in, cuz that meant we would get to put them on and strut them in the store. Not to mention the policy that we HAD to wear pumps while working...........which molded my feet for greatness! It feels so good to have a pay check again! Now I can actually buy the shoe after trying it on vs. setting the salesperson up for a fail sale! Amongst all my shoe ventures, I must say I don't go wrong with Marshall's. I can always count on picking up the cuuuuuuuutest shoes for mouth dropping affordable prices!

Carlos Santana's: reg. $100 - Marshalls: $50

Marcos Franco: reg. $119 - Marshalls: $39

Steve Madden: reg. $100 - Marshalls: $29

I nearly pissed in my pants when I saw these!
Now if only I had something to wear with them...hmmmmmmmm

Be a Packing Pro

I can go on and on about my packing experiances. After 6 years of hardcore traveling I've FINALLY gotten it down! Here's a few tips I found helpful while browsing one of my fav. blogs (LivLuxMag.com):

1. Cut the Crap

Wherever your destination may be, think about your purpose for going, the time of year, and what part of the week you’re going. All these are important factors when deciding what to bring and what to leave behind. If this is a business trip, why bring the party dress? More often than not, skipping out on the after-hours drinks can save you from creating inappropriate relationships. The problem with over-packers is packing for every possible situation that may arise. The solution to that problem is to limit yourself by limiting your wardrobe.

If this is a time of year where you would need more layers, pack an extra sweater or two. If it’s smoldering outside and requires that you shower more than usual, then extra pieces are ok. But if you’re going on a trip lets say from Monday- Wednesday, the sequin leggings can wait to get their shine on the weekend. So really edit down to the bare necessities.

2. Pick One Color Scheme

When traveling, there really should be no need for six pairs of shoes. It only makes sense to coordinate all of your looks with one or two pairs of shoes. Pick a flat shoe for heavy walking and getting through the airport, and pack a heeled shoe (if necessary) in a different color to add variety. Another great idea is to recycle a cardigan or jacket to put with another look to save on bag space. Think of it as a collection; the collection has to flow and work together to create a cohesive look. You never know, this could help you develop a distinctive personal style.

3. Prioritize

Make a list of all the items you need to take by level of importance, and then eliminate the last couple of items. Personally, I realized that I could have done without my slippers (they were a gift from my boyfriend, I had a mushy moment) which could have made room in my luggage for something I had in my purse, therefore making everything a little lighter.

Think about all your beauty products. Can you simplify by sporting a natural look while on your trip? Commit to one hairstyle to prevent packing tons of sprays and serums, and since your clothes are coordinated your accessories should be minimal as well, right?

Believe me, I understand your fear of wishing you would have brought the blue shirt too, or your 5 different sizes of hoop earrings. But choices have to be made…risk looking like a crazy bag lady or not letting the “maybes” tie you down? The choice is yours.

So what better way to kick off the new year with a new hobbie. Well not really new, but more like reactivated. Thanks to my buddy Rion I've started a pretty dramatic book. Thus far I haven't been able to close my mouth while reading. More to come as I get deeper into this tale of betrayel..........
