The Entertainment world: Will make u or break you!

So my Jason and I got into a heated discussion about the influence Hollywood or the entertainment industry period has on people. Not just regular people like us, but even over fav. celebs! I recaped all my fav. female musical artists who have come in the came and kept that REALNESS about themselves. For instance Mary J Blige. I give her mad props! To me Mary is as real as they come in every way. Yes she's enhanced herself, because that's just what you do when your in the "game", but you don't LOSE yourself like half of these people end up doing. Mary's music still has that solid Mary signature sound tho she may throw in a few curve ball sounds and melodies. Yea she switches up on her hair and style, but it isn't far out in the left field. Another person i commend is Beyonce. Though beyonce has ventured into different genres of music, she still has that unique signature sound. It's never a moment where u ask yourself, "What the phuck was she thinking?!?!" From the first cd/song ever made till now, her sound is still the same. As far as her image, well in my eyes she's the same beyonce, just more mature and sexier. It's a known fact that Hollywood can take hold of your life and twist and turn you in ways you NEVER imagined. Just look at an episode of Dr. Drews rehab. Every celeb on the show be it a model, musician, actor, or athlete, being in the limelight changes you. It's been so sad recently seeing some of my fav. celebs deteriorate right before our eyes. But on the same note, it's been a pleasure watching "Hollywood" enhance someones life right before our eyes for the good. It's just up to that person to know their limits and keep control of their life...............which is one of  the biggest obstacles they'll have to face.

Here are a few female celeb examples:

Our fav. Danity Kane member Aubrey O'day. We watched Aubrey obtain her spot in the industry, hard work and endurance. Yet right when she got her break, she let it overrun her life. Unecessary plastic surgeries, gained a concieted attitude that led her dismissal from the group. Where is she now? Who knows, her career in my eyes is OVER! She'll probably be on the next season of Dr. Drews rehab! Poor girl.....

The Infamous Lil Kim........I honestly don't even feel like going there. All I can say is HOT A## MESS!

Heidi Montag..........babygirl babygirl babygirl! What were u thinking?!? Her biggest mistake was Spencer Pratt. Already a gullable girl, her contaminated relationship definitely didn't help the direction she was headed in. Then she has the audacity to go on People mag and and alll these shows and says " In order to make it in this industry, you have to create an image that may not necessarily be you, but in the end it pays off." Well honey too bad it didn't work for you!

Keysia......YEs!

Eve YESSSSSS!

Brandy.....HELL YES!

It's amazing how the changes in your life can effect who you are. The people your with, the places you go, the atmosphere your in. I've always been the type to go with my gut instinct when it comes to style. I never worried what others would say or think of how my appearance was, nor did I care. However, moving into this new chapter in my life has sorta left me a bit dazed and confused. Maybe even lost! I've been so focused on this new me, that I've forgotten the things that make me who I am! I've forgotten the basics of Brittany! This recent trip up north was an eye opener for me. I realized how molded I've become.......and this totally sucked! I realized that I had become relaxed and "normal" in my appearance. I didn't have that KA-BOOM effect I usually have when I enter a room. Not an effect that demands 100% attention, but one that made me feel noticed, made me feel happy to be me! The killer was when my mother-in-law said "U look nice and married!" WTF did that mean? Even if it meant Happy, I took it as an old maid! LOL! I vowed on that plane ride home as I hurled and crapped lol, I vowed that I would find myself again. I would NOT allow others to dictate what they feel is too stylish or trendy, or too much or not too much. Perhaps that's part of the homesick that i've had...............I truly believe part of me was yearning for something more than my family and friends.....yearning to be that funky freshed dressed to impress ready to party girl! *literally just chuckled* From here on out I'm going to buy a new article of clothing and an accessory to add to my collection. Something bright and vibrant..............something like me!

So back the hell up and sit the phuck down babe............I'm back bish! pppfffffffff

Hair Update

So after 2 days of intense hair shopping and comparisons........I purchased me 2 bags of Hollywood brand Virgin Indy Remy Softy body wave hair. I couldn't resist it after running my fingers through the display's locks. FABULOUS! I think this should complete the look I'm going for, if not................o well at least I can stroke this ish when it's on my head. Heavenly! lol

While at the beauty shop I came across the gorgeous big curly wig for $17!!!! I saw a vision instantly with it. I thought hmmmm maybe I can gel the front of my hair and wave it up, add this curly wig and place a braided headband............I bought it, went home and did it.....and lets just say.............it's been turning heads! *sigh* I love hair!!!!!

Dear Weave......

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!

It's been 2 1/2 months without my weave. I haven't done that since..............hell I can't even remember! I almost feel like it's never been in my hair before, because I'm so nervous. Perhaps it's because I'm not 100% comfortable with knowing I'm spending an arm and a leg on hair that someone NEW will be putting it in. *sigh* Well................................we'll see how it goes. In anycase, I'm happy to get my hair back! In the 2 1/2 months of being w/o it, my hair has totally shocked me. It's almost as if it's been saying "bish look at how good I look without the extensions, I'm treating you right!" Thanks to the Dogro regime, and shanelles monthly protein sessions my hair is the healthiest I seen in quite sometime.

Anywho.................I met Candy at a houseparty, and she's actually been doing hair for years but just got her license. She showed me a gallery of her work, and I must say I was pretty satisfied with it. So I'm gonna give her a try.

The style I'm gonna go for this tiime is pretty much a simple one. It's between Aaliyah and Kelly Rowland.

I want a natural look that I can wear curled or straight. Ofcourse I'm gonna do my signature Jet Black (#1). To conquer this look I'll have to use some Virgin Indian hair. Virgin hair is pretty much the only hair that can transform from wavy to bone straight. Not sure yet if I want a side part or a center part. I'm thinking a side part because I do love bangs!

Now for the hair! *sigh* Unfortunately this Virgin hair cost's an arm and a leg, prices range from $100-180 per bag, depending on the brand you get. Believe me the BRAND makes a huge difference! I asked Candy what hair brand she'd recommend and ofcourse the brand she recommended was around $159 per bag. I was able to go to a huge beauty outlet i found in a hood (I'm talkin the size of a Costco) and I sampled a few brands.

To Be Continued................

Nails

I have always had the hardest time growing my nails out! I always called my nail bed retarded, because no matter how much i take care of them, they WILL NOT GROW! I ventured into the acrylic world, but I hated always breaking a nail and cursing my life due to the pain! So I heard about this regime by OPI. Basically it's a thin gel that's applied to the nail, the gel isn't a thick layer like acrylic, but thinner and pliable as regular nail polish. The gel forms a bond to the nail after being set with a UV light. They last up to 3 weeks and require just a touch-up fill after that. You can change your color as often as you want. It's easily removed by soaking the nails in acetone based solvent or OPI offers a product just for soaking them off. Now I've had gel placed on my nails before, but I hated it! But it's important that you ask specifically for OPI's gel kit. Big Difference! I'll be searching for a salon shortly.............

in the meantime i bought some bangin new nail polishes over the weekend.....currently I'm rocking a uber cute Pastel Pink. It's been in the 70's so i had to get that pedi, and my toes look so cute with the pink!
